Nathania Vishnevsky holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honors from Carnegie Mellon University as well as a Master of Science degree in Plant Biology and a Master of Fine Arts degree, both from The Ohio State University. Originally from Wisconsin, Nathania currently resides with her family in Port Moody, British Columbia.
Working primarily in watercolour and acrylic, Nathania strives to translate a conceptual idea into a visual image and in this manner inspire contemplation on our world and the ways in which we attempt to understand it. She works in a representational style which ranges from impressionistic closeups of natural subjects to the photorealistic rendering of elements in a montage. Above all, the works are a physical manifestation of an idea and a record of her organic creative process.
Nathania's work in computer graphics can be seen in major animated feature films such as Shrek, Madagascar and Over the Hedge. Her art work has been shown in galleries throughout the Midwestern United States and California and she has received international and and local awards, prizes, and grants.
